We want everyone to be able to make and enjoy their maps, whatever their abilities or the way they use the web.
Our goal
We aim for Hexplore to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. As we build, we:
- make every action reachable with a keyboard, with a visible focus;
- label buttons, links and form fields for screen readers;
- keep text readable against its background, in light and dark mode;
- respect your device's setting for reduced motion;
- make pages work on phones as well as large screens.
Where we are
An independent accessibility audit of Hexplore is planned. Once it's complete, we'll share its results here.
Some parts of Hexplore are harder to make fully accessible, such as maps drawn as images. We're working to describe them better for screen readers.
Tell us about a problem
If something in Hexplore doesn't work for you, or you need something in another format, please email [email protected]. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and what assistive technology you use, if any. We'll reply as soon as we can.
